American Border Patrol – Oct. 11, 2009
We have noticed more breaks in the fence in along the border south of Sierra Vista.
One section of the fence was cut out, supposedly to avoid flooding from monsoon rains. But the fence was designed by Kiewit Construction to handle flooding. Moreover, if it had flooded, the worst thing that might have happened was that debris would stack up against the fence. This could have been easily removed.
The question is - Why did the Border Patrol cut the fence? Since the monsoon has been over for more than a month, why haven't they repaired the fence? This is a major smuggling corridor.
Also, earlier this summer the Border Patrol removed barriers at the San Pedro River to avoid damage by monsoon rains.
They have not been replaced, even though this would be a simple matter as the BP has the fork-lift needed to do the job.
Just yesterday a BP agent said that illegals are flooding through the hole in the fence at the river.
Numerous other holes have appeared all along the border fence between the Hauchuca Mountains and Naco, Arizona.
Is this a to be a deliberate practice by DHS to open the border?
