Shout Out at Sierra Vista?
Giffords' devious remarks may evoke response

Following protests demanding that she do so, Democrat Rep. Gabrielle Giffords will hold a town hall meeting tonight in Sierra Vista.
In yesterday's Sierra Vista Herald, Giffords answered questions submitted by constituents prior to tonight's appearance.
One such question was: "Do you support health-care reform with coverage for illegal immigrants? Giffords says she doesn't, claiming that opponents are spreading misleading information. Yet, the Congressional Research Service says Obama's plan would allow illegals free health care.
Giffords goes on to say, in effect, that the federal govt. should reimburse Arizona for the cost of caring for illegals, since it has failed to secure the border. Yet, Giffords is one of seven members of Congress to sign a letter opposing the completion of the border fence.
It will be interesting to see how Giffords handles the audience tonight. A short drive from Tombstone, home of the Shootout at the OK Corral, if Giffords tries to stifle probing questions she may face a "shout out" of her own. |
