A Moment of Truth
What Will McCain Say to La Raza?

American Patrol Commentary -- May 7
When then President Zedillo appeared before the National Council of La Raza on July 23, 1997 he said, "I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders and that Mexican migrants are an important - a very important - part of it."
Now John McCain is preparing to speak before the NCLR. When Zedillo declared war on the United States eleven years and ten millions illegal aliens ago 5,000 NCLR reconquistas cheered. What will John McCain say to these people? Will he say that he will enforce the border before talking about a guest worker program, or will he merely surrender the Southwest United States to Mexico?
About his amnesty plan's failure McCain has said, "the American people didn't have trust and confidence in us."
His appearance before the racist NCLR doesn't bode well for restoring that trust and confidence. This is a moment of truth. We will listen carefully to what he says.
