Yuma System Flawed
According to a Border Patrol Supervisor
who has worked the Yuma area, the vehicle
barrier being installed along the border near Yuma can be
easily defeated. The supervisor said that the pipe can be cut
just below the surface and flanges can be installed so that the
pipe can be replaced without evidence of tampering. Then, when
a drug runner wants in, he merely pulls the pipe out, drives
through and replaces the pipe. Tracks are covered using an air
blower. The expert says similar techniques have been used all
along the border.
