December 16, 2006
American Border Patrol announced today that, in light of the action of the Pisenemo District of the Tohono O'odham Indian Nation, it will increase its aerial surveillance of the area. According to Glenn Spencer, head of the group, ABP will use its Border Hawk M to overfly the reservation looking for smugglers and illegal aliens. Spencer, who worked for years with Indian Tribes in Montana and North Dakota, said the Border Hawk M's thermal camera system should be very effective. ABP is seeking public support for its effort.
Spencer will be flying to Phoenix today to take delivery of an ultralight aircraft that his being donated to ABP.
