Christine Romans:
Twenty- eight- year- old Brian Jackson was a newlywed. The Dallas
police officer was shot and killed in November by an illegal
alien. Juan Lescano had been detained twice by local police in
the previous two months. Both times he was released under a policy
that prohibits local officers from enforcing federal immigration
law. Representative Charlie Norwood says his amendment to the
House
reform bill would change that.
Norwood: Our bill makes certain that they are authorized
to help the federal government just like they're authorized to
help the federal government catch drug dealers...
